The Nigerian Senate has directed the Central Bank of Nigeria to review its ineffective monetary policy. The Senate Committee on Banking has also scheduled a hearing to discuss the shortage of banknotes and the rise of old currency notes. This follows an invitation to the Central Bank Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, for an update on the bank’s 2024 monetary policy accomplishments.
