Bangladesh has formally requested India to extradite former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to face trial in her home country.
Sheikh Hasina fled to India after a wave of anti-government protests in August.
India said it had received a message from Bangladesh’s foreign ministry but gave no further details. The two countries have an extradition treaty.
The ousted prime minister is facing multiple charges of human rights abuses and corruption. She has denied the charges.
